HAPPY SUMMER!  Thanks so much for sticking around despite my frequent lapses in posting content.

Mrs. Roweneau placed a warm plate of waffles in front of Rowe and Sam and set down two glasses of orange juice. “Happy summer!” she sang as she twirled back to the counter. Rowe looked up at his mother. “It’s June 21st—the first day of summer; the magical summer solstice!”

“Josephine…Josephine it’s starting!” hollered Mr. Roweneau.

Rowe’s mother took a third plate from the kitchen counter and walked it to her husband. She sat beside him on the couch and thus began their daylong cartoon binge, starting with the virtuoso piece of art that was Garfield and Friends.
